Under the terms of the agreement, Bally’s Foundation will buy the property for $8.5 million and then lease it back to the school for a nominal fee of one dollar annually for 25 years with the option for five-year renewals. Furthermore, Bally’s will cover up to $1.6 million for repairs and associated costs.

In a bid to maintain the school’s independence, the Sisters will establish a new board, and the school will retain the right of first refusal if Bally’s Foundation decides to sell the property in the future.

Local officials and alumni expressed relief and gratitude to Bally’s for stepping in to preserve the historical Preston High School, which has been serving the community since 1947.
